I arrived in San Antonio about $180.oo poorer, (due to the ticket) and with frazzled nerves. I think I drove through there shortly after that guy crashed his plane into the IRS building so that may be what caused the traffic problem. Worth wasn't too bad but Austin's traffic was terrible. So the drive from Bowie to San Antonio was rather stressful. I was only speeding up to pass some slow poke trucks. On my way out of Bowie I got a speeding ticket.
Their dog was having a good ole time playing with and eating the afterbirth. We rode around on the Go Jigger and checked on the cattle and fences. Her new house is almost finished and it's really beautiful. I stayed for three nights and had a really relaxing time there.
Then I had a short drive to my Aunt Terri's place near Bowie. We also went to the casino across the Red River and I won twenty dollars! We had a nice visit. I spent the first couple of days with Grandma Millie in Wichita Falls. The economy doesn't seem to be suffering like it is in Colorado. And I've seen many more signs around in Wichita Falls, the Bowie Wal*Mart, and various places here in San Antonio that are hiring as well. The very first gas station I stopped at in Texas had a big sign in the window saying, "Now Hiring!" I felt just sure I would find a job here in Texas. I might even have a hint of that Texas drawl! I do apologize if my blog seems discombobulated and slow. I think I'm starting to think like a Texan though! My mind isn't spinning and I'm sleeping a lot better. I haven't had much time alone other than driving and sleeping. I am certain the universe is giving me exactly what I need though. It's funny how now I kind of miss my solitude. I think I'd become so accustomed to being lonely that I just thought it'd continue on during this journey. You'd think being a hobo would be lonesome.
